Halocell Energy is pioneering a new generation of perovskite photovoltaics, delivering scalable, efficient energy harvesting solutions that perform reliably across diverse lighting conditions. Early in Halocell’s journey, we aligned with findings from a 2025 MIT study, "Surprisingly diverse innovations led to dramatically cheaper solar panels," which highlights that starting with ambient photovoltaic products offers a capital-efficient path to market (MIT News). This insight underpins Halocell’s strategy of harnessing next-generation perovskite technologies to build manufacturing expertise, enhance material stability, and optimize roll-to-roll production for scalable, cost-effective solutions.

Halocell Ambient Modules

Halocell’s Ambient Modules deliver lightweight, flexible, and highly efficient indoor energy for small electronics and IoT applications. Engineered for optimal performance in low-light and ambient environments, our foil-like photovoltaic modules provide continuous, renewable power, reducing reliance on disposable batteries and enabling sustainable, maintenance-free operation. Ideal for homes, offices, and industrial settings, these modules empower innovation by integrating renewable energy into the core of electronics. Through continuous development, Halocell is driving higher efficiencies and scaling production volumes to meet growing demand.

Our Solutions:

IoT

⚫ The IoT Market is projected to exceed 29 billion connectred devices by 2030, with 30-50% of these devices potentially powered by PV.
⚫ Most IoT Devices are powered with single use buttin batteries that Halocells Technology is able to replace or recharge.
⚫ Use cases include: Environment Monitoring, Asset Tracking Devices and Smart Home Gadgets.

Small Electronics

⚫ Halocell is passionate about reducing the battery e-waste from electronic devices by integrating our ambient modules into currently battery powered devices, either to extend the range, recharge, or replace the need for batteries.
⚫ Use cases include remote controls, electronic shelf labels and medical devices.
“Halocell’s technology is going to be a gamechanger in the world of medical instrumentation. The opportunity for reliable indoor portable power for hospital and medical equipment is vast. I present regularly at biomedical conferences. Recently I began demonstrating our ProSim 3 Vital Sign Simulator using a Halocell PV module to groups of BioEngineers. They instantly saw the future of portable power for medical instrumentation! The first time I did the demonstration, they actually did not want me to leave with the device!”

Coming Soon:

Halocell is utilising low-light and small-module products to generate early revenues while scaling production. Our focus is on markets where traditional silicon cannot compete—sectors prioritizing capability (satellites), weight (drones), or light sensitivity (indoor applications like sensors). Looking ahead, Halocell is laying the groundwork for powerful, lightweight, and ultra-low-cost full-sun photovoltaic panels, paving the way for a greener, more connected future.

Drones

⚫ Halocell, together with V-Tol Aerospace and Li-S Energy, was awarded a grant of $1.35M AUD to develop a drone that integrates LIS’ next generation batteries and advanced PV modules that can be deployed from ‘dawn to dusk’ without landing or recharging.
⚫ Use Cases Include: Military, Agriculture / Environmental Monitoring, Disaster Management, Maritime Surveillance, Communication Relay.

"Winning this grant is a significant acknowledgement by Government that the work V-TOL, Li-S Energy and HaloCell are conducting is of national importance. This exciting opportunity, will enable our sovereign technology collaboration to design, develop & manufacture a family of world leading energy sustainable drones."

Mark Xavier, V-TOL Aerospace Managing Director

Space

⚫ Gallium Arsenide is currently the primary PV material used for satellites and represents a substantial component cost of satellites.
⚫ PSCs have the potential to be >10 times cheaper than Gallium Arsenide PV
⚫ There is projections of up to 80,000 satellites in orbit, and therefore >10,000 satellites launched per year
⚫ Together with our partners, we have secured over $1.7M grant funding in Australia and are producing perovskite PV space modules for commercial space technology companies.

Si-PSC Tandems

⚫ Halocell’s is taking first step towards a tandem PSC-Si module solution.
⚫ We’re developing a semi-transparent PSC layer to apply on top of silicon panel.
⚫ We expect panel efficiency to increase from 22% to >30%.
