Recognised by the U.S. Department of Energy and global industry leaders, Sofab is accelerating the commercialisation of perovskite technologies by solving critical material challenges. The company’s rapid prototyping and co-development capabilities allow partners like Halocell to enhance performance and accelerate time-to-market for new products.

Area of Collaboration

Under this partnership, Sofab Inks is suppling Halocell with advanced nanoparticle inks, co-developed for charge transport layers. Meanwhile, Halocell continues to formulate and manufacture its exclusive perovskite inks, optimised for a diverse range of applications.  

The collaboration supports the production of flexible, foil-like photovoltaic modules designed for seamless integration across a wide spectrum of use cases - from battery free environmental monitors and smart sensors to drones, satellites, and rooftop solar - engineered for both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions.

Introducing the Halocell Ambient Modules

Halocell has launched its first perovskite-based product line: the Halocell Ambient Modules, purpose-built for low-light conditions. Key features include:

  • Optimised for low-light conditions of 500 lux and below - ideal for homes, offices, and industrial settings
  • Stable voltage output across a wide spectrum of low light conditions
  • Thin-film, lightweight, and flexible - perfect for sensors, tracking devices, and other low-power IoT applications
  • Fully Recyclable – 98% of functional materials can be safely reclaimed and reused, including the substrate
  • Australian innovation with global reach
